We’re thrilled to announce that, as of this morning, Kansas House Speaker Pro Tem Blake Carpenter’s proposed amendment to the Kansas Constitution providing further protections for our right to self defense has been officially introduced!
As of introduction, the House Concurrent Resolution — the first step in this process — has already received 72 signatures from Representatives requesting to cosponsor the important measure.
We haven’t been shy about the fact that it may be very difficult to find politicians willing to put themselves forward to support freedom in an election year so we are very excited to see a significant number of legislators throw early support behind the resolution.
However, if we are going to get this important amendment on the ballot for a vote, we need more than 72 votes. We’re confident we have others in our corner when this comes up for a vote, but your legislators need to hear from you!
If your Representative isn’t already on this list, please reach out to them and:
- Tell them you, their constituent, support taking action to recognize that the right to keep and bear arms includes possession and use of ammunition, accessories, and components.
- Respectfully, but emphatically urge them to support Rep. Carpenter’s pro-2A constitutional amendment when it comes up for a vote.
- Ask them to go to legislative leadership on your district’s behalf and encourage them to give Kansas voters an opportunity to pass this protection before it is too late!
